About the Event

The inaugural Red Kettle Ride will take place on September 23rd in Decatur, Alabama. All proceeds from this ride will go to the Salvation Army, and support the fine work that they do in our community! The ride will feature a shorter family and recreational rider option on the Bill Sims Bicycle Trail, as well as a 28, 62 and 101 mile option

101 Mile Route

The 101 mile option will take riders out to some scenic views, and quiet roads in Morgan County. This route will have over 5000 feet of elevation gain with a mixture of challenging climbs, and rolling roads, and the infamous Alabama Koppenberg! You will have the chance to stop at least five times at supported rest stops that are set up along the way.

62 Mile Route

The 62 mile option will take riders out to some scenic views, and quiet roads in Morgan County. This route will tackle the challenging Gum Springs and Gandy Cove climbs before turning around to head back to the finish in Decatur. You will have three rest stops that are spread out over the 62 mile distance.

28 mile route

The 28 mile option will take riders out on the same path as the longer distances, and feature two challenging climbs in Indian Hills. There will be a rest stop at the turn around point which will allow you to refuel before heading back in to the finish in Decatur. The route is slightly longer than the map shows due to the software not being able to show the turnaround properly.

Family Fun Ride

The family fun ride will take riders on the Bill Sims Bicycle Trail. Riders will take the trail from downtown, and head towards the river to ride towards Point Mallard Park. Riders, and families can do the entire loop of approximately 15 miles, or turn around at a certain point to head back in. You get to pick your distance, and create memories with friends and family while supporting a great organization!

Included with you registration is an event t-shirt, and a post-ride meal provided by Big Bob Gibson's BBQ at the Salvation Army campus in Decatur!

Early bird discounted registration pricing through August 27th. The lower price will be reflected in your cart when you check-out.
